Laubenthal's Class Weekly Updates
1/21/13
Mrs. Laubenthal’s class decided
they would like to start publishing weekly updates about what is going on in
their lives as part of a reflection assignment they are all very excited
about. Each student has chosen
one thing that has been a new “development” in their life in the past few weeks.
1/2
In our class, many students have been eagerly reading and writing in
order to self-reflect on themselves.
Caleb S. has been leading the class in reading minutes, whereas Darron
and Jasey have decided reading is a waste of their time, and they will be
spending more time watching TV and videos. Dillon has also decided that reading is
not really his thing and has not been turning in his reading minutes.
Many students in class are also taking new direction regarding their
school career. Caleb L. is going
to quit basketball so he can focus on joining Math Leagues.
Brennan has decided that he will be volunteering his time to come to
school every Saturday to help teachers get things reading in their classrooms
for the following week. Jack, who
has the cleanest and most organized locker and book bag, is going to start
tutoring disorganized students to help them become more organized.
Tyler will be monitoring the students who never bring their materials to
class because he always brings his materials to class.
Some students, however, have not made the best decisions.
Keagan continues to never turn in her work and is constantly on the late
list. Sam continues to be so
talkative that she gets in trouble every day by the teacher.
Makayla has been very unkind to people who wear cowboy boots, calling
them “Hicks” and refuses to speak to them. The saddest part is that Quinn has
decided to quit school to go on a quest for Bigfoot.
Many more students have taken new directions with their extra-curricular
activities. Some of those “directioners” have vowed to never look, hear, or
speak of the popular group “One Direction” again.
These ladies include Taylor M., Ashley, Maddie, and Holly. Ivan has come
to the realization that tennis is stupid and will not be pursuing it any
further. Kyle and Jared hate
playing video games, and Dylan thinks that racing is way too dangerous;
therefore, he will not be taking part in racing anymore.
Katie, however, still thinks that haunted places are scary, and she
continues to scream and cry if she even hears a story about a haunted
place.
Some other things have “stopped” dead in their tracks in the class
also. Keelie and Alexa are no
longer BFF’s, and they swear they never will be again.
Taylor G. is getting rid of her horses because she does not like them
anymore. Olivia, Avery, and
Jeremiah are all quitting sports they used to play.
Olivia is quitting track to
pursue her dance career, while Avery is quitting softball so she can focus her
time and talents on golf.
Jeremiah is going to quit basketball so he can take ballet lessons. Finally, Mrs. Laubenthal has decided
she hates chocolate, and if anyone brings her chocolate, she will give them
detention.
That’s the news in our class recently! Other students will be updating this
information weekly!
This week’s update done by Caleb Stiawalt.
6/7
All the students in the class have been sharing their excitement towards school .
Jacob, who hates to sit around, is always being productive doing
homework or helping around the house. Adam-will volunteer at school every
Saturday starting this week. Emily is so excited to be coming to
school at 7 AM on Saturdays to help teachers plan instead of sleeping in. Irving
wants to focus on his English, so he has decided he will not talk to girls
anymore because they are a distraction. Brandon was the winner of the positive
award this week in class.
Some students have been not
having such good days. Luke is
crying because the Falcons lost to go to the Super Bowl. Shelby complains that
she hates writing and will not take any writing classes in high school. Olivia
spends all day complaining that she thinks Liam Hensworth is the ugliest man on
the planet. Nate B. has become fed up with music and hates it so much that he
will be giving away his I Pod. Nate H. thinks Minecraft is horrible and hates
anyone who plays it.
Other students have made some extracurricular changes this new year.
Callie is going to quit dance and learn how to hunt. Chase has decided that
YouTube videos are fake and stupid and will not be spending any more time on youtube.com while Sarah is quitting all sports to focus on sewing. Zack now loves the Packers since they had a very successful seasons, unlike the Steelers. As for Jaxon, he quit wrestling and has decided to start ballet
lessons.
Mrs. Laubenthal continues to get up every day at 5 AM to grade papers, and continues to have them finished in a timely manner.
That sums up our new year so far! Look for updates next week.
